The Faculty Club, Berkeley, California
Over the past five years, I resided frequently at the U.C. Berkeley Faculty Club. Listed on the National Register of Historic Houses for its unique 1902 American Craftsman architecture, it has housed many Nobel Laureates. I experience its architectural atmosphere as uniquely arrested in time–dense, moody, and dominated by the practical objectives of a semi-private space.
